BRITISH NORTH WEST PASSAGE EXPEDITION
In 1989 two British Explorers made an attempt to sail through the North West Passage, for which purpose they chose to use a Falmouth Bass Boat. The expedition was written up in the Bass Boat Bulletin under the title "British duo choose Falmouth Bass Boat to sail across the top of the world" .
The Bass Boat Bulletin was published by the Falmouth Bass Boat Company who were licensed builders of the boats at that time.

ALASKA ENCOUNTER WITH FBB 'TULUK'
The following e-mail was received from Jim White, an American now living in Arizona -
"My name is Jim White, in 1988 I was working on the shores of the Beaufort sea in Alaska I found the two Mikes in their small tent on the beach near our facility. We fed them, fixed their compass and after a nice visit they where on their way, I never heard about them again and I think about them and wonder of their fate, is there some way I can contact them, I have some good pictures of them and Tuluk. I am a sailor and have sailed Seattle to Seward Alaska twice but would not think of attempting what they did."

Jim later wrote up the encounter for his company news sheet, copies of which are shown below
Web Master's Note:
Following Jim White's e-mail I managed to track down Mike Jaques who now runs a company supplying medical supplies to oil companies as well as undertaking mine clearance. Mike told me that that he and Mike Marriot managed to get 1,200 miles into Canada before the winter ice closed in so preventing further progress that year. They had managed to make a maximum of 80 miles per day under sail and oar. Tuluk was left where she was their intention being to return the following spring to continue the journey. Unfortunately funds ran out and they never returned, Tuluk remained where she had been left.
